Thank you for this article. I have a few questions, if that’s ok. Am I correct in assuming that none of the UAP/UFOs have been seen entering into our atmosphere, or leaving it? I picture them as appearing suddenly into view out of seemingly nowhere, and then disappearing before your eyes. Am I correct about that? You also said that our aircraft were, at times, almost colliding with them. In my mind, this suggests they were maneuvering the skies utilizing some form of invisibility shields, only allowing their appearance to be seen at their discretion. Your thoughts?

Thank you, without professionals such as yourself, this subject would just stagnate under the cloak of obfuscation. Great information and analysis. Can't wait for more!

You might find this interesting Ryan - it is a post about two bombing raids on the ball bearing factories in the German town of Schweinfurt in 1943. The first raid on 17th August 1943 was commanded by Colonel Curtis LeMay, the second one on 14th October 1943 was commanded by Colonel Budd Peaslee. Images from both bombing raids depict silver discs present ("Foo Fighters"), however only the crews on the second raid reported them in their debriefs. One B-17 in the second raid actually collided with these discs and reported it. The belligerent LeMay probably prohibited the crews reporting the phenomena on the first raid, whereas Peaslee was well known for his concern for the men under his command and encouraged reporting of the discs. Typically, LeMay's attitude saw him rise to the rank of General whilst Peaslee was not promoted further.

Thanks, Ryan for this article, which filled in a few gaps in my understanding of the GIMBAL incident. I am curious about your response to the NYT article by Julian Barnes that cites an unnamed DoD source claiming the rotation seen in the video is an artifact of the sensor. What are your thoughts on this? (Of course, even if true, it doesn't actually explain the nature of the Gimbal or the other craft on the SAS, only the apparent rotation).

More importantly, thanks for EVERYTHING you are doing to bring this topic the serious technical and scientific attention it deserves. The more pilots and other military personnel that come forward, the greater the progress to be made in getting to the bottom of this fascinating mystery. I am looking forward with excitement to the material you will be posting on this site. All the Best, Erik

Great post Ryan. I'm curious though... the US Navy states (from John Greenwald's FOIA response) that the Go Fast and Gimbal footage were both captured on 21 January 2015 ... and Commander Dave Fravor said the same aircrew (Ripper 11) filmed both events. Go Fast footage has a mission clock of 42:25 seconds, and Gimbal has a mission clock of 52:45 (MM:SS - no reference to the hour though). During such training, is it normal to fly more than 1 sortie a day in the same aircraft? There is speculation that the events were concurrent, and that multiple "Go Fasts" emerged from the ocean and then "formed up" in "the Fleet" wedge-type formation ABOVE the Gimbal. Are you able to make a comment on the Go Fast UAP and its possible inclusion as a Fleet member?

I fully understand if you are unable to comment on Go Fast for security reasons - a "no comment" or Glomar response is completely fine.
